Social Responsibility

The ripple effect of social responsibility.

Taking care of our people stems from the family values on which we’ve built our business. In addition to providing employees a safe, comfortable work environment, we take pride in giving back to the communities in which we live and work.

We enthusiastically encourage employees to take part in volunteer opportunities that benefit community organizations and causes. Menasha Corporation participates in food drives, fundraising walks, and medical and clothing initiatives for national emergencies or disasters, and we often collaborate with our customers for the greater community good.

Partnering up pays off

CUSTOMERS

Partnering up pays off.

Exceeding expectations of customers happens because of the ideas and efforts of our employees. While we don’t focus on accolades, we do appreciate being recognized by Unilever throughout the years with a Partner to Win Award, a Social Impact Award for our commitment to diversity and inclusion, and with a Supplier Excellence Award.

Mentors matter.

EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES

Mentors matter.

Partnering with GPS Education Partners, high school students receive classroom learning at a GPS center for part of the day and spend the rest of the day working in manufacturing, either at a Menasha Corporation facility or another business in the local area. Over the years, nearly 90 employees have been trained as mentors in this program. In 2020, a Menasha Corporation site opened an onsite education center for apprentices in the GPS program.

Raising the safety bar.

SAFETY

Raising the safety bar.

Everyday our goal is zero accidents and safety incidents. Providing our employees with a safe work environment is among our greatest responsibilities and one we don’t take lightly. Safety at our facilities includes employee-led safety programs, mandatory safety training, and customized functional safety training. With safety a priority, we are proud our businesses have maintained Total Recordable Incident Rates consistently below industry averages.

PHILANTHROPY

Celebrating Our Legacy of Giving Back

Giving back is embedded in our culture. We are proud to be giving $6 million to nonprofits in 2024, with $4 million in honor of our 175th anniversary. This includes $3.7 million in grants to four nonprofit organizations in our founding community in the Fox Valley of Wisconsin. Read more details on our News page.

Raising a helping hand.

Volunteerism is a vital part of our company culture. Employees use their teamwork, problem-solving and expertise in activities to benefit a wide variety of community organizations and causes. Our volunteer work includes helping to fundraise, participating in events, serving on boards, and lending our skills.

Helping communities thrive.

Menasha Corporation has been a passionate supporter of community projects and organizations for more than a century. Founder Elisha D. Smith’s philanthropic efforts have helped less fortunate families and educational institutions far beyond the company’s hometown of Menasha, WI.

Helping with disaster relief.

Through the Menasha Corporation Foundation, our company is helping the Red Cross prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters as a partner in the Red Cross Ready 365 Program. Our employees can also contribute using a Menasha Corporation Red Cross micro site to designate where their dollars should go.

Books for kids.

Our company founder, Elisha D. Smith, donated land and funds to open the Elisha D. Smith Free Public Library in Menasha, Wisconsin, in 1898. Today, Menasha Corporation continues to support the library’s activities, including purchasing books to give to at-risk students.
