Menasha Corporation Names New Executive Management Committee

5/4/2009

NEENAH, WI...

Menasha Corporation, a privately held packaging, logistics and marketing services company, today announced the creation of a three-person Executive Management Committee comprised of the Presidents of its two largest operating companies, Michael K. Waite of Menasha Packaging Company and James M. Kotek of ORBIS Corporation; and Thomas M. Rettler, the Corporation’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Reporting to Donald C. “Buzz” Shepard, Menasha’s Chairman, and to the Board of Directors, the Executive Management Committee members will continue in their current roles and, in addition, collectively assume general responsibility for the company’s affairs.

According to Mr. Shepard, “The creation of the Executive Management Committee and the promotions of Waite, Kotek and Rettler are part of a process the Board initiated last year to establish the leadership succession of the company when Arthur W. Huge, who has been its President and Chief Executive Officer since 2005, began to discuss his retirement plans with the Board.”

Mr. Shepard also announced that Mr. Huge has decided to retire from the company effective today.  “We thank Art for his contributions,” Shepard said, “and wish him well.”

“Mike Waite, Jim Kotek and Tom Rettler have played key roles in maintaining the strength and stability of Menasha Corporation during the current challenging business environment and have positioned our businesses to capitalize on opportunities created by current market conditions and those that will emerge as the economy recovers,” Shepard said.

“Under Mike Waite’s leadership, Menasha Packaging has become one of the largest independent packaging and display companies in the country, consistently providing outstanding products and service to our customers, delivering excellent growth and returns to our shareholders and significantly outperforming the industry,” Shepard continued.  “Likewise, Jim Kotek has guided ORBIS in its development as a major force in plastic reusable packaging products and services by reinforcing the core values of all Menasha businesses: putting the needs of our customers first in a way that benefits all of the company’s key constituencies.”  Last year, Kotek oversaw the acquisition of Norseman Plastics, the largest in the history of Menasha Corporation.  The acquisition solidified ORBIS’ position as an industry leader.

“Since joining Menasha last year, Tom Rettler has quickly become an integral member of Menasha’s senior leadership team, sharpening the company’s strategic and financial focus and sharing valuable business leadership insights and practices of benefit to our operating businesses,” Shepard said.

Shepard continued, “Thanks to the foundation of excellence and leadership developed over Menasha’s proud 160-year history, the hard work and dedication of our employees and the support and loyalty of our customers and suppliers, our businesses remain solid and strong.   We look forward to the future under the leadership of our Executive Management Committee.”
