The Menasha Corporation Foundation today announced a gift of $500,000 to the Theda Clark Medical Center Foundation’s Next Century Campaign.  The campaign will raise $10 million to transform Theda Clark Medical Center in a variety of ways that will improve clinical care and fulfill patient expectations into the future.

“Theda Clark Medical Center provides excellent health care to the residents of the Fox Valley and the surrounding areas and we are delighted to help support its efforts to continue the proud tradition of providing world-class healthcare,” said Ralph L. Evans, Menasha Corporation Foundation president, on making the announcement.  “The Medical Center is one of the facilities our employees rely on for medical care and the transformation of the physical facilities and the delivery of care can only serve to enhance patient satisfaction.”

As part of its change in the philosophy of care delivery, the transformation will incorporate the principles and innovation of Theda Clark’s “hospital of the future” initiative.  Updated patient rooms will accommodate only one patient, leading to improved safety and privacy, and a new collaborative care model will provide a team of professionals that provide all-encompassing care for patients.
Menasha Corporation’s founder, Elisha D. Smith, was one of 11 local philanthropists who stepped up to fund the second addition to Theda Clark Hospital more than 100 years ago.

"We are in the very early stage of the corporate portion of our drive to raise the $10 million for the Next Century Campaign" said Tom Prosser, Chair of the campaign. "As it has in the past, by sharing its financial resources to maintain and improve the quality of life in our communities, the Menasha Corporation Foundation is playing a leading role. Those of us who live and work in the Fox Cities are indeed blessed by the generosity of the many individuals and businesses that share their wealth to make our community a better place in which to live.”

The donation is being made from the Foundation’s “Field of Interest Award” fund, which focuses on awards that will make a significant impact on the community at large.
